The Tampa Bay Captains had to overcome a fine effort from Boston pitcher Antonio Higuera to win, 5-4, at Ahoy Park. Higuera went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. The last-place Captains own a record of 46-107.

Tampa Bay got a knockout punch from Sam Bingle. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 15th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Boston manager Mike Plocher.
