Mounties Handle Crown, 8-1

The Vancouver Mounties took on the Carolina Crown at Mounties Field.
Thanks in large part to designated hitter Richard Ulmer, the Vancouver Mounties beat the Carolina Crown, 8-1. Ulmer was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Javier Ramos snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 2.2 innings. He's now 9-6 on the season.
With Vancouver leading 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Ulmer batted against Carolina pitcher B.J. Rudolph. Ulmer hit a cutter to right for a grand slam home run. His 28th home run of the season put the Mounties on top, 5-0.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Mounties manager Zaire Hyde.
Vancouver is now 81-71.
