Owens Slugs Sea Turtles to 8-5 Win
The timely hitting of Clark Owens helped the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles down the San Diego Fleet, 8-5. Owens went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Sea Turtles. Brian Hennick earned his 8th save in 10 chances. Daytona Beach is now 70-82, San Diego 93-59.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Sea Turtles grabbed the lead when Owens hit his 18th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Brian Underwood made it 8-5, Daytona Beach.

In postgame comments to the Daytona Beach Chronicle, Owens said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
