Tampa Bay got a big-time effort from pitcher Edwin Montez, but it wasn't enough to keep the Toronto Trash Pandas from winning the game, 7-3. Montez threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The second-place Trash Pandas improved to 86-66.

Toronto won the game in part because of Cory Bloodsaw. The catcher ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Trash Pandas ahead, 6-3. For the game, Bloodsaw had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Bloodsaw said.
