Chicago Absorbs 2-1 Loss to Indianapolis
|
The Indianapolis Eagles earned a close win over the Chicago Gangsters, thanks in part to John Hennig. The Indianapolis right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the NC in complete games with 1, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Morgan Jenkins closed out the game, earning his 8th save. With the win, Indianapolis pushed its record to 86-65.
Lee Muza chipped in a solo home run for Indianapolis in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Chicago skipper Antonio Valdez, "and it cost us."
