The Indianapolis Eagles overcame a good performance by Chicago shortstop Jason Bear to knock off Chicago, 4-2, at Eagles Stadium. Bear was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. Greg Camarillo closed the game out for Indianapolis, earning his 6th save. Indianapolis raised its record to 87-64 with the win.

Indianapolis took the lead, 4-2, on Jim Anderson's 20th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Chicago pitcher Andy Bennett in the bottom of the seventh.

Anderson said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
