Well, that's how to end a game in style.

The Cincinnati Royals got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Harvey, but the Boston Whistlers still won the game, 6-5. Harvey threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. John Salgado picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Wayne Harless suffered the loss.

Boston got a knockout punch from Paul Simister. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Simister.

The Whistlers, at 83-68, have a comfortable 17½-game lead in their division.
