Eagles Sunk by Gangsters
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Indianapolis Eagles and Chicago Gangsters get after it.
The exploits of designated hitter Hiromichi Sato helped the Chicago Gangsters defeat the Indianapolis Eagles, 5-1. Sato was 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win puts Chicago at 54-97.
Evan Seaborn had a big run-scoring double for the Gangsters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from John Hennig, who is tied for 7th in the NC in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gangsters ahead, 2-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Sato, "and today was a good one for us."
