5 Straight Wins for Pines
Spirited fans greeted the Syracuse Scorpions for their clash with the Maine Pines.

Behind the hitting of Skyler Fundis, the Maine Pines stopped the Syracuse Scorpions, 13-5. Fundis went 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Pines. Ryan Flamino got the win, improving to 8-8. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Dave Figley finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

The Pines got a big hit from first baseman Pete Roan. Facing Syracuse pitcher Joe Bringman in the top of the sixth, Roan pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 25th double of the season put the Pines ahead, 8-4.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Maine manager David Whigham.

Today's win puts Maine at 79-72, while Syracuse falls to 52-99.
