Phoenix Defeated By Marauders, 4-1

The Philadelphia Marauders topped the Phoenix Gladiators, 4-1, in American Conference action at Marauders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher William Deel. Deel picked up the win for Philadelphia, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 16-10. Vince Mellon, who is tied for 7th in the AC in saves with 24, earned the save for Philadelphia.
Art McDonald had a big solo home run for the Marauders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Philadelphia leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from Mike Walsh, who is tied for 5th in the AC with a 10.2 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 27th home run of the season, which put the Marauders on top, 2-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Deel told the Philadelphia Daily News.
The triumph puts Philadelphia at 80-71 for the season.
