Victory Takes Invaders to 79-72
|
Oakland and Vancouver duked it out and the Invaders came out victorious.
The Oakland Invaders picked up a win at Mounties Field, dropping the Vancouver Mounties, 4-1. Alfredo Tiscareno, who finished 2nd in the NC in innings pitched with 234.1 in 2015, was the difference-maker. Tom Paolucci closed the door for Oakland, picking up his 24th save of the year.
Oakland used the timely hitting of Aaron Nelson to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Invaders on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Oakland manager Bobby Campbell commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
After today's action, Oakland sits at 79-72; Vancouver slips to 73-78.
