Sea Turtles Rally Late to Nip Stars

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles got the win.
Hollywood got a valiant performance from pitcher Chris Benson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles. Daytona Beach won the game, 3-2. Benson threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Justin Erim picked up the win in relief for Daytona Beach, while Carlos Carachure took the loss.
Daytona Beach used a clutch hit from Jordan Thompson to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sea Turtles ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Thompson told the Daytona Beach Chronicle.
The third-place Sea Turtles are now 76-75, the Stars 65-86.
