Dragons Need Extra Innings to Top Giants, 4-3
|
The Dallas Dragons defeated the Detroit Giants, 4-3, in 12 innings in American Conference action at Ballpark of Detroit. Dallas pitcher Pat DeChant had a standout performance. The winner was Nick Kirshner in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Lee Maher took the loss. Dallas has a record of 71-80, placing them last in the American Conference South Division.
Carlos Rodriguez came through with a big-time hit for Dallas. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
DeChant called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
