Justin Berry, who is tied for 4th in the NC in innings pitched with 194.0, had a strong outing for the Carolina Crown against the Vancouver Mounties at Mounties Field. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. In 6.2 innings, Berry surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Mike Fisher was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 27 of 31 save opportunities.

Carolina used a clutch at-bat from Jose Lazaro to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crown ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Berry told the Carolina Herald: "I was born for the big stage."

Carolina now sports a record of 71-79.
