Paul Simister did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Boston Whistlers from being beaten, 5-4, to the Cincinnati Royals at The Castle. Simister was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The first-place Whistlers have lost 4 straight games.
Aaron Jalbert dealt the Whistlers a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Cincinnati leading 3-0, Jalbert, who finished 2nd in the NC in on-base percentage with .413 in 2024, hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Cincinnati manager Justin Aaron.
