Whistlers Come Up Short at Cincinnati, 2-1
|
The Cincinnati Royals got a stellar effort from pitcher Tom Kitko, helping Cincinnati score a win over the visiting Boston Whistlers, 2-1. The Whistlers, now 72-78, have lost 5 straight.
Danny Bryson came through for Cincinnati when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a two-strike sinker to center field, staking his team to a 2-1 lead.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Bryson, "and then get after it again."
