Tampa Bay left fielder Jonathan McCarthy had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Toronto at Ahoy Park. McCarthy went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The losses continue to mount for Tampa Bay, which has now dropped 7 in a row.

Jaylen Taylor went 1 for 4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Toronto. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Taylor, who finished 2nd in the NC in doubles with 52 in 2023, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Tampa Bay hurler Jesse Keim, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Trash Pandas a 6-5 lead.
