Dan Miller, who is tied for 8th in the NC with a 1.08 WHIP, pitched well, but the Maine Pines still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Syracuse Scorpions at Hannaford Dome. The Scorpions sit in third place in the American Conference Central Division with a record of 66-84.

Syracuse used the hitting of Ryan Mallory to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Scorpions on top, 3-2. For the game, Mallory had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Syracuse manager Ricardo Lopez.
