The Boston Whistlers did just enough to nip the Charleston Shiners, 3-2, in 10 innings. Boston pitcher Antonio Higuera, in particular, had a standout performance. Boston reliever Matthew Rowlands picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jon Reynolds absorbed the loss. Boston is now 31-27, while Charleston is 33-25.

The Whistlers got a clutch hit from second baseman Keith Roberts. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Whistlers.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Higuera.
