Heathens Prevail, 4-2, Over Boston
|
Halifax pitcher Miguel Berrios did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Whistlers, 4-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Berrios, now 12-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Chris Booth converted his 6th save in 8 tries.
Bruce Richards chipped in for Halifax with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
After the game, Halifax manager David Morris applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
With the win, Halifax raised its record to 88-61.
