Marauders Claim 3-1 Win
|
In a tight tilt between Philadelphia and Dallas, pitcher William Deel was a key contributor. The right-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-1 Marauders win. Deel, now 19-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. With the win, Philadelphia raised its record to 87-61.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Marauders had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when first baseman Gregg Carter hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bobby Henderson and made the score 3-1, Marauders. Carter was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"William just settled in and did what he does," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
