Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Carolina Crown and the San Francisco Fire. Carolina won it, 2-1, in 10 innings. Carolina starter Kevin Daniels was in command. Carolina pitcher Preston Todd got the win. He's now 6-4. Marcos Rosas was tagged with the loss. Carolina now sports a record of 69-79.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Carolina. That's when 24-year old left fielder Mike Green hit a solo home run off Marcos Rosas to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said San Francisco manager Jim Clarke.
