The San Francisco Fire dealt the Oakland Invaders a 5-1 loss at Howard Terminal. Gabe Garza was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Fire improved their record to 65-83 with the win over Oakland.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Jonathan Kober had a game-changing hit. The Fire catcher slammed a run-scoring single off Isaiah Sanders, making the score 2-0, San Francisco.
Kober attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
