Eagles Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
Jay Helm pitched well, but his team, the Boston Whistlers, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Indianapolis Eagles at Eagles Stadium. Cameron Hutchinson, who is tied for 8th in the NC in saves with 20, was the winner in relief. His record is now 7-2. The losing pitcher was Jay Helm. With the win, Indianapolis upped its record to 78-69.

Indianapolis got a clutch hit from Mark Payne. The first baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"It was bedlam at the end," Payne said.
