Sea Turtles Solve Fire, 6-2
|
Though he had a great game, Malcolm Babcock could not single-handedly produce a win for San Francisco. Daytona Beach won the game, 6-2. Babcock was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. John Bickel snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Kyle Griffin suffered the loss. The save was credited to Brian Hennick, his 1st.
Aaron Rakers cracked a home run off Kyle Griffin in the bottom of the first. His 2-run blast put the Sea Turtles on top, 2-0. In all, Rakers had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
In comments to the Daytona Beach Observer, Rakers admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The Sea Turtles now have a record of 64-83 with the win over San Francisco.
