Caribou Victorious at Carolina, 6-2
|
Vancouver picked up a win at Reedy River Stadium, bumping off the Carolina Reapers, 6-2. Pitcher Nick Douglass was a major reason the Caribou emerged victorious. Douglass yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 12-13. Vancouver is now 56-91, while Carolina is 64-83.
The Caribou benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Brian Myers at bat and Vancouver leading 2-1, the Carolina miscue allowed Vancouver to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Myers.
