Fire Get Past Charleston for 4-3 Win
|
San Francisco pitcher Erik Ashley did his part in helping his team beat the Charleston Shiners, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mike Walker earned his 29th save in 33 chances. After today's action, San Francisco sits at 83-63; Charleston slips to 79-67.
Nick Drake, the 22-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Drake contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Drake, "and then get after it again."
