Desperados Collect 5-2 Win Over Scorpions
The Austin Desperados beat the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-2. Austin pitcher and Pearland, Texas, native Jim Ostrom led the way. Austin reliever Roberto Salazar picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Elijah Miller absorbed the loss. Joe Townsend was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 7 save opportunities.

Austin relied on the hitting of Eric Barlow to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Desperados on top, 4-2. For the game, Barlow had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Barlow.

Austin is third in the American Conference South Division with a record of 65-81.
