With Late Score, Gladiators Beat Pines
The Maine Pines and Phoenix Gladiators provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Gladiators grabbed a win, 3-2, at Oakhurst Field, overcoming a fine effort from Maine pitcher Ryan Flamino. Flamino went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ryan Robertson recorded his 15th save for Phoenix.

Phoenix used the clutch hitting of Willie Villegas to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Gladiators ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Maine manager David Whigham.

The Gladiators win now puts them at 80-66.
