The Syracuse Scorpions picked up a win at Ballpark of Charleston, taking down the Charleston Shiners, 2-1. Starting pitcher Matt Simpson was a big reason why. John Landgren earned his 23rd save in 30 chances. The Scorpions now own a record of 63-83.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from shortstop Guillermo Ramos. For the game, Ramos went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 31st double of the season gave Syracuse a 2-1 lead.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Ramos said.
