Seagulls Shut Out Whistlers, 3-0
|
The Sandusky Seagulls topped the Boston Whistlers, 3-0, in National Conference action at Seagull Park. The standout performance belonged to Sandusky pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native B.J. Rudolph. Rudolph picked up the win for Sandusky, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Mike Fisher, credited with the save, is now 28 for 33 in save opportunities.
Mike Green had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Sandusky. He came through with a 2-run single to put Sandusky in front, 3-0.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Seagulls manager Kyle Caito. "This one was nice to get."
The last-place Seagulls improved to 60-86.
