Invaders Take Home 3-1 Win Over Boston
Miguel Leon brought his A-game to help Oakland defeat the Boston Whistlers, 3-1. Leon, now 8-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. David Holloman notched his 20th save in 22 chances.

Oakland took a 3-1 lead on Pat Marchitto's 18th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Marchitto hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Boston pitcher Antonio Higuera visibly frustrated.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Boston manager Ben Foster.

Oakland raised its record to 87-59 with the win.
