The Charleston Sea Dogs beat the Tampa Bay Captains, 8-2, at Ballpark of Charleston. Charleston center fielder Gabe Osburn had the hot bat. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Charleston pitcher Jim Savoie got the win, upping his record to 8-8. Jeremy Schroeter got the loss. Charleston now sports a record of 86-59.

Chris Franklin had a big run-scoring double for the Sea Dogs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Charleston leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jeremy Schroeter and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-1.

"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Jalen Armour.
