Scorpions Stumble, Lose to Invaders
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Syracuse Scorpions and Oakland Invaders get after it.
Steve McKinstry left his imprint on the 8-1 Oakland win against the Syracuse Scorpions. McKinstry, who is on pace to hit 51 home runs this season, was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Scorpions, now 21-36, have lost 5 in a row.
John Piscitelli, the 23rd overall pick in the 2019 draft, chipped in a run-scoring single for Oakland in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Said losing manager Ricardo Lopez: "At the end of the day, we've got to play better."
