Charleston center fielder Chris Franklin was sensational. He was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Syracuse beat the Shiners, 5-4. John Froerer picked up the win, lifting his record to 14-15 on the season. He struck out 8 and walked 2 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 1 run. Elijah Miller got the save, his 30th in 31 chances.

In the top of the first, Raheem Rogers delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Syracuse catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Scorpions in front, 5-4.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Rogers told the Syracuse Gazette. "Whatever it takes."

The Scorpions go to 53-92 with the win.
