The Carolina Reapers weathered an outstanding game by Syracuse center fielder Chris Guardiola to topple the Scorpions, 4-3. Guardiola went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. John Salgado earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. The third-place Reapers are now 64-81, the Scorpions 70-75.

Bobby Phillips helped out the Carolina cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter was 2-2 with 2 singles.
