Reapers left fielder Prince Sunderland put his stamp on his team's 8-4 win over the Chicago Gangsters. Sunderland went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for Carolina in the contest. The winning pitcher was Jimmy DeMoss. He's now 10-14. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Reapers. Roy Walk got credit for the save for Carolina. It was his 1st of the year.

Making an impact for Carolina was first baseman Mike Fearing. Tiny drilled a run-scoring double off Ronnie Miller in the bottom of the first. For the game, Fearing went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times.
