The Carolina Reapers tallied a win at Leatherback Park, throttling the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jake Triplett was a big reason for his team's success. Triplett got the win, improving to 4-11. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Jake Schmitt earned the save for Carolina, his 12th of the year.
Dustin Sheedy, who leads the NC in triples with 9, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sheedy contributed a 2-run triple in the top of the first inning to put Carolina up, 2-0.
"Jake had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Carolina manager Julio Rodriguez.
Carolina is last in the National Conference South Division with a record of 60-83.
