Getting offensive support from Billy Totten, the Syracuse Scorpions topped the Boston Whistlers, 5-4. Totten hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Scorpions. John Landgren earned his 22nd save in 28 chances. Boston has now lost 4 in a row.

Totten had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball from Matthew Rowlands, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Scorpions a 5-3 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Totten.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Boston manager Ben Foster.
