Whistlers Lose, 3-0, in 10
|
The New York Nightmare took Boston pitcher Jay Helm's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Whislters Park. The final score had New York getting past the Whistlers, 3-0. Helm went 10 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 6. The win was credited to Adam Holland in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jay Helm took the loss. The Nightmare, now 4-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
New York used the timely hitting of Josh Feezor to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Nightmare on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You can't win if you don't score any runs," said losing manager Ben Foster. "You don't need Confucius to tell you that."
