Nightmare Take Down Marauders, 8-7
|
Despite a great performance by Philadelphia first baseman Carlos Barreto, the New York Nightmare defeated the Marauders by the score of 8-7 in 16 innings at Nightmare Stadium. Barreto hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Chris Wyzard, now 11-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. The Nightmare sit in second place in the American Conference North East Division with a record of 70-72.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 16th, an error by the Marauders allowed the Nightmare to score the winning run.
"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Cardona.
