Toronto Charts 5-4 Win Over Cincinnati
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas did just enough to nip the Cincinnati Royals, 5-4, in 10 innings. Toronto pitcher Travis Anderson, in particular, had a standout performance. Evan Sippel earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 3-1. The Trash Pandas saw their win-loss record go to 80-61. At the same time, the Royals fell to 72-69.
Pedro Rangel came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Anderson.
