The Austin Desperados had to overcome a big game from Dallas center fielder Jay Thibodeaux to leave Dell Diamond with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Thibodeaux was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Chris Oren picked up the save for Austin, his 6th of the year. The second-place Desperados have won 4 straight.

Leo Serna hit a 2-run home run off Adrian Huffine in the bottom of the first, which put the Desperados ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Serna had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Austin manager Adam Ponder.
