Gangsters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Whistlers
The Chicago Gangsters outlasted Josh Cowels and the Boston Whistlers, 8-6, in 10 innings. Cowels was impressive in the loss. The Boston pitcher came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters. Chicago bumps their record to 55-86 with the win.

Chicago needed the clutch hitting of Billy Manuele to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Gangsters on top, 8-6. For the game, Manuele had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Manuele told the Chicago News. "Whatever it takes."
