The Syracuse Scorpions beat the Charleston Sea Dogs, 8-5, at Scorpion Stadium. Ryan Mallory, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2. Justin Farrell picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Antonio Sanchez, who finished 2nd in the NC in innings pitched with 215.2 in 2023, was tagged with the loss. Ken Allbaugh got the save, his 25th in 30 chances.

Early in the game, designated hitter Billy Totten had a 2-run home run for Syracuse. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Scorpions on top, 2-0.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Totten.

Syracuse is 59-80 and Charleston, with the loss, 91-48.
