Austin used the bat of John Austin to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Desperados ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.

Austin told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
