Invaders Lose Late to Gangsters
|
Chicago pitcher Sam Palacios did his part in helping his team beat the Oakland Invaders, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Chicago reliever Brandon Williams picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Tom Paolucci was saddled with the loss. The loss makes Oakland 82-56.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jason Bear? The former first round draft pick Bear stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Chicago up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Bear. "But I have better dreams after a win."
