23ers Lose 9-6 Decision to Hollywood
The Hollywood Stars defeated the Fountain Hills 23ers, 9-6, at Fountain Park. Hollywood was led by four-time All-Star Matthew Little, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times. Oscar Malave, the winner, improved to 14-2. He held the 23ers to 6 runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 4. Hollywood currently is in third place in the National Conference West Division at 73-65.

Elijah Moody had a big solo home run for the Stars in the top of the fourth inning. With Hollywood leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Curtis Gring, who is tied for 10th in the AC in innings pitched with 170.2, and punished it. The result was his 26th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 2-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Moody told the Hollywood Daily. "It's as simple as that."
