Fire 2-0 Winners Versus Fountain Hills
|
The San Francisco Fire went home winners at San Francisco Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Edwin Rincones. Rincones stifled the Fountain Hills 23ers, enabling San Francisco to grab the 2-0 win. Rincones got the win, improving to 4-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Earning his 4th save for San Francisco was Scott Hargraves.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Keith Hawes didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Fountain Hills trailing 2-0, Hawes retired Josh Mahan to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Hawes, with a wink.
The San Francisco win streak is now 5 games.
