Daytona Beach right fielder Russ Reinertsen helped his team beat the Sandusky Seagulls, 8-3. Reinertsen, who is tied for 7th in the NC in doubles with 31, went 3 for 3 for the Sea Turtles. The winning pitcher was Jon McDonald. His record is now 11-6. The right-hander went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Sea Turtles. Antonio Sanchez converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.

The Sea Turtles got an important contribution from second baseman Dave Jones, who in the top of the fourth punched a 2-2 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Sea Turtles ahead, 8-0.

Jones said his team "played with determination."
