Thanks in large part to center fielder John Austin, the Austin Desperados beat the Cincinnati Royals, 9-4. Austin was 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The save went to Bill Reno, number 3 for him.

Austin took the lead on Austin's 44th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which came against Gary Barone in the top of the sixth, made the score 3-2, Austin.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Austin told the Austin Today.

With the win, the Desperados have a record of 83-54.
