Gladiators Beaten By Royals, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cincinnati Royals and the Phoenix Gladiators, fireballing 6' 7" left-hander Josh Huggins was the difference-maker. The Cincinnati left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Wayne Harless wrapped it up, recording his 35th save. At 71-66, the Royals claim third place in the National Conference North East Division.
Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Rick Brown to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Phoenix manager Brett Bartlett. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
