Mounties Snatch Late-Game, 2-1 Win
|
The Vancouver Mounties had to overcome a good performance from Philadelphia pitcher Sergio Penichet to claim a 2-1 win at Mounties Field. Penichet went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Chris Brown picked up the win in relief for Vancouver, while Chris Jacoby took the loss. The second-place Marauders have dropped 5 straight games.
Brian Massey was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mounties first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Massey said.
