Dragons Thwart Pines, 3-2
|
The Dallas Dragons and Maine Pines played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark. Fortunately for the Dallas Dragons, though, Pablo Barajas was able to deliver in the clutch. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, to lead his team past the Maine Pines, 3-2. The winning pitcher was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Adrian Huffine. He tossed 112 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. Rick Ways, who is tied for 8th in the AC in saves with 22, earned the save for Dallas.
In the first inning, Barajas had a 2-run home run for Dallas. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Dragons on top, 2-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Dallas manager Juan Gonzales, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
With the victory, the Dragons record stands at 48-88.
