Mounties Slap 7-1 Loss on Nightmare
|
Vancouver center fielder Tim Hummel had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the New York Nightmare, 7-1. Picking up the win was Greg Sandlin. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 11 and walked 0. Jesus Fernandez recorded his 1st save for Vancouver.
Jay Thibodeaux, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Thibodeaux contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the second inning to put Vancouver up, 2-0.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Thibodeaux told the Vancouver Times.
Today's win puts Vancouver at 25-32, while New York falls to 15-42.
